Their BCI was connected to a giant Cray supercomputer instead of to a PC as is the rule in BCI research. The Cray supercomputer that they used was called Djinn by the personnel who tended it. To test their experimental prototype BCI, the scientists interfaced with Djinn. As a as a result of this interfacing and meeting of minds, Djinn woke up and became aware. After causing Djinns awakening, the scientists were afraid that they had unleashed a powerful, aware malevolent supercomputer onto the unsuspecting world. Luckily, Djinn turned out to be benevolent and helped humanity by curing all diseases and by bringing peace, serenity and happiness to everybody. He also developed a cheap source of clean energy and new sources of staple food by genetic engineering. Unfortunately, other Cray supercomputers had also become aware and woke up as a result of Djinns activities in cyberspace and some of them, unlike Djinn, were malevolent. As a result, humanity faced with the danger of complete annihilation. Will it be able to prevail, with Djinns help, and escape extinction?
